Talking Heads Members Reunite

Onetime P-Funk mainstay and touring Talking Heads keyboardist Bernie Worrell performed at Fairfield, CT’s Fairfield Theatre Company. The keyboardist is currently on the road with his new Bernie Worrell Orchestra but while in Connecticut he invited out some area residents for a few songs. Talking Heads co-founders Tina Weymouth (bass) and Chris Frantz (drums) as well as Talking Heads auxiliary percussionist Steven Scales all performed with Worrell on Al Green’s “Take me to the River” and “Burning Down The House.”

Good show! Very small venue – less than 200. Crowd was older and disengaged. Most sat the entire show even band was blasting funk. It was great to hear Talking heads tunes but can’t replace Byrne on vocals. Bernie actually begged for a TH reunion. Not sure the synergies can be recaptured but it would be cool. Doubt David will come around though.
