The GRAMMY Museum, in conjunction with Woody Guthrie Publications, Inc. and the Woody Guthrie Archives, has announced details about their plans to commemorate the life and career of folk music legend Woody Guthrie in Los Angeles. The Woody Guthrie Centennial Celebration will take place April 9-14 and will include educational programming, a plaque dedication, special performances, a conference at The University Of Southern California and a Woody Guthrie tribute concert.
On the final night of the celebration, an all-star lineup of musicians will come together at LA’s Club Nokia for the second installment of the ‘This Land Is Your Land’ tribute concert. Performing classic Guthrie songs will be Jackson Browne, Crosby and Nash, Kris Kristofferson, Dawes, John Doe, Joe Henry, Sarah Lee Guthrie & Johnny Irion, Tom Morello, Van Dyke Parks, Joel Rafael, and Rob Wasserman.
