Several local musicians joined North Mississippi Allstars at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl over the weekend. On Friday night, Bowl regulars Nigel Hall (keys) and Eric Krasno (guitar) emerged for “Everything I Do Gonna be Funky,” “Hippy,” “Will It Go Round in Circles” and “Feels Like Rain.” Hall—who provided lead vocals on “Will It Go Round in Circles”—also remained onstage for “The Meeting.” Leroy Justice opened the night and invited out Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds’ Arleigh and Jackson Kincheloe for the encore of “Love The One You’re With”. Leroy Justice have also been selected to appear on IFC’s Sounds of the Cities compilation record.

The collaborations continued on Saturday night. This time guitarist Jamie McLean sat in during the group’s performance for “Psychedelic Sex Machine,” while harp player Hook Herrera appeared on “Hear My Train A Comin.’” Hall also returned for portion of the band’s set. North Mississippi Allstars will perform in Hattiesburg, MS this Friday.
