Guster are currently in the midst of their first-ever acoustic tour. The shows have featured a number of unique moments, including reworked versions of rarely played originals like “Fall in Two,” “Rainy Day” and “Empire State.”

Taking a cue from Yo La Tengo’s annual music/comedy Chanukah celebrations, Curb Your Enthusiasm star Jeff Garlin and comedian Mat Edgar are also on the road as the band’s opening act. In addition to his own comedy set, Garlin joined Guster onstage to sing Neil Diamond’s “Solitary Man” at both Milwaukee, WI’s Pabst Theater on Saturday night and Minneapolis, MN’s Pantages Theatre on Friday night. On Thursday night at Chicago’s Vic Theatre, Garlin not only sang on the Neil Diamond cover but also helped the group through the area-appropriate “Go Cubs Go!” He also engaged in a bit of piano improvisation.

Guster’s acoustic tour will continue in State College, PA on April 16.
