Describing his band’s sound in a recent interview with Relix, Real Estate bassist Alex Bleeker said primary songwriter Martin Courtney would make Real Estate “sound like The Shins if it wasn’t for [him] and guitarist Matt Mondanile.” Now, Courtney will have a chance to share the stage with The Shins when they open for the indie group in May. Real Estate will play three shows with The Shins, including stops in New York, Philadelphia and Boston. In addition, the band has added some headlining shows in California timed with the band’s previously confirmed appearance at the Woodsist festival.
