West Coast surfer/musician Donavon Frankenreiter has announced the release of his fifth studio album, Start Livin’, set for release May 29 via his own label Liquid Tambourine Records. The album comes as the follow up to 2010’s Glow, featuring nine-track selection of folk-infused songs produced alongside Frankenreiter’s longtime friend and band member Matt Grundy as well as Adam Ableman from Southern California.

“To me the most beautiful thing about this record is it really reflects who I am today,” says Frankenreiter. “Start Livin’ means stop worrying about where you’ve been, where you’re going-just start embracing what you have around you. Start loving what you have right now.”

You can check out the video for album track “A.I.,” which pays tribute to Frankenreiter’s friend Andy Irons (a professional surfer who passed away in November 2010).

In support of the album, Frankenreiter will embark on a June headlining summer tour kicking off June 1st at the Compound Grill in Phoenix, AZ. Please see below for the full tour itinerary.
