Donavon Frankenreiter Announces New Album

West Coast surfer/musician Donavon Frankenreiter has announced the release of his fifth studio album, Start Livin’, set for release May 29 via his own label Liquid Tambourine Records. The album comes as the follow up to 2010’s Glow, featuring nine-track selection of folk-infused songs produced alongside Frankenreiter’s longtime friend and band member Matt Grundy as well as Adam Ableman from Southern California.

“To me the most beautiful thing about this record is it really reflects who I am today,” says Frankenreiter. “Start Livin’ means stop worrying about where you’ve been, where you’re going-just start embracing what you have around you. Start loving what you have right now.”

You can check out the video for album track “A.I.,” which pays tribute to Frankenreiter’s friend Andy Irons (a professional surfer who passed away in November 2010).

In support of the album, Frankenreiter will embark on a June headlining summer tour kicking off June 1st at the Compound Grill in Phoenix, AZ. Please see below for the full tour itinerary.

His 2004 album in my opinion is still his best — saw him perform at a sold out Bowery that year — he was so on top of his game.

This would probably be quite easy to find, but ardccoing to Romer’s theory, which coaches go for it enough? From New England, I see a lot of Pats games and would suspect that Bill tends to go for it and succeed more often than most.

So gutted ..): I have luvd Mr Frankenreiter’s csiury beach tunes for a looonnng time. When I found out he was playing at the Solbar on the sunshine coast I was so excited. Entered a few ties and received the the info I had won tickets!!! couldn’t believe it, was going to be an epic night! However I had booked my self in to work for my friend at her cafe in Hervey Bay, as she had a family wedding to attend in Sydney. This was sweet as I had plenty of time to finish work, get ready and drive 2 and half hours back to the sunny coast ready to be there to listen to Donavon. Turns out the rain came, and came and came and the main Highway back to the sunshine Coast CLOSED, no way round it, that I could get back in time. So sad, similar to an inconsolable child Please let me know if there is any way to transfer my tickets to his next venue, I’m prepared for a road trip just to see. Thanks heaps!!!
