Conspirator busted out two new covers this week. On Wednesday night at Rochester, NY’s Water Street Music Hall, the group moved into a take on the New Deal’s “Gone, Gone, Gone.” Then last night at Boston’s Paradise, the electronic group debuted a take on the Grateful Dead’s “Scarlet Begonias” (as the comment section points out, they played “Gone Gone Gone” too). Conspirator co-founders Marc Brownstein and Aron Magner covered a number of Grateful Dead songs during the Disco Biscuits’ early days.

Conspirator will perform in Portland, ME this evening. In a Facebook post Brownstein hints, “I got a really solid feeling about this Portland show tonight! Scarlet Begonias was really fun to play last night. Moving on to tackle a couple of classic Conspirator songs today!” The group is currently on the road promoting their new live album Unlocked – Live from the Georgia Theatre.
