After five years as a band, Psychedelphia have announced that they will be breaking up later this month. The group will perform their final show at Philadelphia’s Trocadero Theatre on April 26. The group will be supporting The Motet, who will be performing the music of The Grateful Dead in what is being dubbed “Funk Is Dead.” According to a statement from the band:

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances the band will have to cancel all performances other than the April 26th show at The Trocadero with no opportunity to reschedule. There will be no future Psychedelphia performances scheduled at this time. The Band & Management would like to thank everyone involved with Psychedelphia for their continual dedication and support through the years. It is an abrupt end to an incredibly rewarding experience.
