Mickey Hart Band Unveils New Single, Tour Dates

The Mickey Hart Band has released the song “Who Stole the Show?” from their new album Mysterium Tremendum. Fans can download the track for free via Hart’s website.

“One thing that pulled me in to this project, was what became the song “Who Stole The Show?,” says bassist Dave Schools. “I’d come over to the studio two years ago and play some bass lines on some really long grooves with the Sounds of the Universe, and then I’d go off and go on tour with Widespread Panic. Then I’d come back six months later, and all the grooves and loops had been cut into tunes with Sikiru singing the Ifa. The tune blew my mind. It was nothing like I had ever heard before. It pulled me right in.”

You can hear more about what drew Schools into the project in Volume Two of the Mysterium Tremendum video series, which can be viewed below.

In addition, the Mickey Hart Band have also announced tour dates for late May and July, in support of the new album. Please see below for the full list of dates.

Saw Mickey and this band in Ridgefield CT a couple of weeks ago. A throughly enjoyable show, not a Dead tribute band for sure, not really a pure jam band, not a world music band…really good music, lots of rhythms and beats, some good strange sounds and melodies, a bit of jamming and singing, a different cool Scarlet/Fire, a bunch of great musicians and different styles coming together. Even my 16 year old liked it… Highly recommended!
