As previously reported, Umphrey’s McGee has partnered with Chicago’s official tourism organization to create a new theme song for their hometown. “Chicago,” which is now streaming on USA Today‘s website, also features fellow Chicago musical heroes Buddy Guy and Chicago (Umphrey’s McGee have collaborated with Guy during their New Year’s Eve runs). The group will perform “Chicago” during a HUG Chicago 2012 ‘thank you’ concert at Chicago’s Park West.

According to a statement, “HUG Chicago 2012 is the first-ever hospitality industry effort dedicated to the beautification and protection of Chicago’s structural assets visible to and accessed by visitors. Produced by Choose Chicago, the organization launched by Mayor Rahm Emanuel with the goal of attracting 50 million visitors per year by 2020, HUG Chicago 2012 is the city’s official kick-off to National Tourism Week.”

In other news, Relix has partnered with Umphrey’s McGee to give away a pair of VIP passes to New York’s Catalpa Music Festival. Winning contestants will also be able to watch Umphrey’s McGee’s set side stage and meet the band after their set. Please click here to enter.
