Bela Fleck, McCoy Tyner, Roy Haynes, Soulive, Yasiin Bey (formerly Mos Def), Roots family members Questlove, Black Thought and Rhazel, The Soul Rebels and Groove Theory are among the acts slated to appear at the Blue Note Jazz Festival. The extended festival will take place at venues throughout New York City from June 10 – 30, 2012. In addition to shows at the legendary Blue Note itself, the festival will host performances at The Highline Ballroom, B.B. King Blues Club, Central Park Summerstage, The Apollo Theater, Henry Street Playhouse at the Abrons Arts Center, Brooklyn Bowl and Sullivan Hall.

Some select highlights include: Béla Fleck & The Marcus Roberts Trio at the Blue Note on June 10, Bootsy Collins at BB King Blues Club on June 13, Kung Fu at the Blue Note on June 15, Spectrum Road ft. Jack Bruce, John Medeski, Cindy Blackman-Santana & Vernon Reid at BB King Blues Club on June 29, George Porter& the Runnin’ Pardners at Sullivan Hall on June 30, Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey’s performance of their “Race Riot Suite” at the Blue Note on June 29 and Sierra Leone’s Refugee All-Stars at the Highline on June 29. In addition, Groove Theory, Soulive, Riq & Rah (Black Thought & Rahzel) with Strings and DJ ?uestlove will play an outdoor show at New York’s Central Park SummerStage on June 17 while latter day Rolling Stone bassist Darryl Jones will perform at part of The Rolling Stones Project ft. Tim Ries with Bernard Fowler at the Highline Ballroom on June 22. A complete schedule is available here.
