Bruce Springsteen Pays Tribute to Levon Helm With "The Weight"

Bruce Springsteen paid tribute to Levon Helm last night with a cover of “The Weight” at Newark, NJ’s Prudential Center. The song came in response to a sign calling for a Levon Helm tribute and was Springsteen’s first public tribute to The Band drummer. Helm regularly covered Springsteen’s “Atlantic City” and recorded the song with a latter day version of The Band.

Last night’s show closed out the first leg of Springsteen’s Wrecking Ball tour and also featured the first performance of “Bishop Danced” since February 3, 1973.

Watch The Boss perform “The Weight” in the video above.

It amazes me that people can’t just shut the f**k up and let the performer sing the song. There is a reason he’s up there and you’re out there. Because you can’t f****ng sing moron! And if you can I don’t give a f**k!!!
