Following yesterday’s news regarding the passing of Beastie Boy Adam “MCA” Yauch, numerous musicians paid tribute to the influential musician through performances and statements. Yesterday afternoon, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals covered both “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party)” and “No Sleep ‘Till Brooklyn” during their set at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival Fairgrounds. Later in the evening, Space Disco—featuring Umphrey’s McGee keyboardist Joel Cummins, Wyllys, Trey Anastasio Band’s Jen Hartswick and Natalie Cresman, drummer Terence Houston, Future Rock bassist Felix Moreno and Particle keyboardist Steve Molitz—performed covers of “Sabotage,” “No Sleep ‘Till Brooklyn,” “Brass Monkey,” and “(You Gotta) Fight for your Right (To Party)” at The Maison in New Orleans.

Elsewhere, The Roots and Jimmy Fallon honored Yauch with a video montage and covers of classic Beasties songs. During the segment, The Roots performed covers of “Sure Shot”, “Remote Control”, and “Sabotage.”

In addition, tonight’s HBO broadcast of the 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be dedicated to Adam “MCA” Yauch. The Beastie Boys were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 14 in Cleveland. The broadcast debuts at 9PM EST tonight.
