Karl Denson to Cover the Beastie Boys Again

Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe have added another Beastie Boys tribute. The group will now perform the music of the Beastie Boys at Boulder, CO’s Boulder Theater on June 22. Slightly Stoopid’s Kyle McDonald, Oguer Ocon and DeLa will join the group during their set. (Denson toured as an auxiliary member of Slightly Stoopid last year). Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and members of Slightly Stoopid will also perform the music of the Beastie Boys at San Francisco’s Independent on May 11 and 12.

Saw this show at Belly Up last night. The Slightly Stoopid guys do an amazing job with The Beastie’s covers. A lot of talent on stage, I suggest anyone who has an opportunity to see this, they were doing it before the death of MCA, now it is just more special considering the untimely death of one of the true innovators.
