Higher Ground "Hug Your Farmer" Tribute to Levon Helm to Feature Jon Fishman, Ryan Miller, Ray Paczkowski, More

This year’s “Hug Your Farmer” benefit at Burlington, VT’s Higher Ground will pay tribute to the late Levon Helm. The event, set to take place May 18, will feature performances by the “Hug Your Farmer House Band” consisting of Bob Wagner, Clint Bierman, Peter Day, Ray Paczkowski, Ron Rost and Steve Hadeka. A number of special guests will also take part in the benefit, including Jon Fishman of Phish, Ryan Miller of Guster, Will Evans of Barefoot Truth, Stephen Kellogg, The Sweet Remains, Joshua Panda, Matt Hagen & Mike Clifford of Lendway, and Anders Parker. A statement on the Higher Ground website reads:

‘Hug Your Farmer’ is a call to action—an expression of pride in the community, the idea that music and food run deep here and can bring us together to affect change. Levon epitomized this deep connection, and we’re thrilled to celebrate his music and his legacy by bringing great musicians together for an event that raises money for NOFA VT’s Farmer Emergency Fund.

Proceeds from the evening will go to benefit the Northeast Organic Farming Association’s VT Farmer Emergency Fund. Tickets can be purchased via the Higher Ground website.
