Dave Matthews Band kicked off their 2012 summer tour last night at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, TX. The show, which was the band’s first tour opener since 2010, featured the debut of a few new originals, including the first full band versions of “Mercy” (Matthews debuted the song last month on Fallon) and “Sweet” (debuted last year by Matthews on solo ukelele at the Chicago Caravan) in addition to the first ever performance of “Gaucho.” Matthews and company also busted out “Beach Ball” for the first time since May 1, 2009 and “You Never Know” for the first time since July 31, 2009. “Squirm” also made its first encore appearance since September 4, 2009.

You can hear the band’s new tune “Gaucho,” which was released as a free download to members of the DMB fan club, in the video below. The song is slated to appear on the band’s forthcoming Steve Lillywhite-produced album.
