Bonnaroo Hints at Superjam, Questlove Included

Over the years Bonnaroo has confirmed the participants
and theme of its signature Superjam in different ways: Some years the Superjam has been a complete surprise until showtime while other years the festival’s promoters have revealed its lineup ahead of time. This year Bonnaroo has split the difference by announcing that Roots drummer Questlove is one of several musicians confirmed to join the late night jam sessions. In a message the festival’s promoters tease, “We can’t give away too much info, but be sure to stop by their late night set on Saturday night at the festival.” The Superjam will take place in This Tent on the festival’s Saturday night (technically early Sunday morning).

This is the third Bonnaroo Superjam Questlove has participated in over the years. In 2005, he performed with Herbie Hancock, Pino Palladino and Lionel Loueke while in 2007 he played alongside John Paul Jones and Ben Harper. He is also confirmed to play the festival’s main What Stage with The Roots on Saturday evening.

In related news, Bonnaroo has also added Electric Guest. The LA indie pop band will perform in This Tent early Friday afternoon.

I’m upset that “Atoms for Peace” isn’t the Superjam. It seems like a missed opportunity to have 4 out of 5 members of “Atoms” at Roo and not have them play

The only person missing from Afp is the drummer… So it could still be them.

Oh my god! That’s it! Atoms For Peace are gonna let Jack White drum with them!
