New York’s Bang on a Can Marathon celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. The annual event hosts a number of experimental and avant-garde performers, as part of the larger River to River festival. During the 12-hour Marathon, the performers will interpret New Music works from composers as varied as Steve Reich, Thurston Moore and David T. Little.

This year’s Marathon will once again be held at the World Financial Center Winter Garden, and features performances from Bang on a Can All-Stars, Pauline Oliveros and the Deep Listening Band, Dither, Grand Band, The Guidonian Hand, Heavy Hands, Newspeak, NYU Contemporary Music Ensemble with Jonathan Haas, Talujon, TwoSense, Ashley Bathgate, Maya Beiser, Vicky Chow, Kris Davis, Vijay Iyer, Kaki King, Michael Lowenstern, Alvin Lucier, Todd Reynolds, and more. The event kicks off the River to River festival on June 17 at Noon.
