GIVERS to Play Mickey Shunick Benefit Show

GIVERS will play a hometown benefit show before heading on the road this summer. The group—who are profiled as a Summer Star in the June issue of Relix—will appear at Lafayette, LA’s Parc International on Sunday, May 27 as part of a Mickey Shunick Benefit Show. Shunick recently went missing and 100% of all profits will be donated to her search efforts. Vagabond Swing will also perform. There is currently a $25,000 reward for anyone who can relocate Shunick.

In other news, ahead of the 25th anniversary of Paul Simon’s Graceland, several indie artists have teamed up for a music video series of Graceland covers. One participating artist is GIVERS, who recorded “That Was Your Mother,” accompanied by Louisiana music legend Dickie Landry and the Lost Bayou Ramblers. Their take on the classic song can be found below.
