Sgt. Mike Wilson and G. Love backstage at a G. Love/Jack Johnson show

G. Love will perform at the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, DC on May 28 to honor U.S. military veterans.
The performance comes after G. Love received word that Sgt. Mike Wilson was suffering from emotional challenges and was also one of his biggest fans. In hopes that he would inspire the marine to stay strong, G. Love sent him a video message containing a song called “Come Back to Me” (watch the video below). Sgt. Wilson was later traveling in a vehicle struck by an IED and sustained a traumatic brain injury. Since his return to the United States, Sgt. Wilson has been discharged from the Marines, has completed his first year with honors at Georgetown University and is currently on special assignment in Afghanistan.

G. Love will perform his hit song “Peace, Love and Happiness” live at the parade as supporters gather to remember and tell stories honoring veterans and those who continue to serve. Other performers include American Idol winner Kris Allen and the Voice contestant and former Air Force band vocalist Angie Johnson.
