San Francisco, CA’s Two Gallants have signed to ATO Records and will release their fourth LP The Bloom and the Blight on September 4, 2012. The album is their first since 2007’s self-titled release and comes after a three-year hiatus.

Produced by John Congleton (The Walkmen, Explosions In The Sky, St. Vincent), The Bloom and the Blight moves away from Two Gallants’ more folk and blues-based past and into a more punk and grunge space. During their three-year hiatus, guitarist Adam Stephens released a solo record We Live On Cliffs, and drummer Tyson Vogel created a self-titled instrumental album as Devotionals in 2010. After writing most of the tracks and road-testing them on their predominantly sold-out Fall 2011 US and European tours, Two Gallants completed The Bloom and the Blight at Berkeley’s legendary Fantasy Studios and in San Francisco’s Tiny Telephone studio.

Two Gallants will play a handful of festival dates in the US and abroad this summer. A full fall tour will be confirmed in the coming weeks. The first track off The Bloom and the Blight is now available on the band’s homepage.
