Lettuce celebrated the release of their new studio album Fly by opening for Dave Matthews Band at Saratoga Springs, NY’s SPAC last night. Not only do the members of Dave Matthews Band and Lettuce share a long history, but Lettuce trumpeter Rashawn Ross is a touring member of Dave Matthews Band. Though his DMB schedule has caused him to miss a few recent Lettuce shows, Ross pulled double duty and performed throughout Lettuce’s opening set. He then invited the rest of Lettuce’s horn section back out during Dave Matthews Band’s headlining set for “Seven,” “Can’t Stop” and “Shake Me Like a Monkey.” Lettuce guitarist Eric Krasno also appeared on “Can’t Stop.”

After the show came to a close, Ross made his way to Saratoga’s nearby Putnam Den to perform with Lettuce singer Nigel Hall and his Nigel Hall Band. Lettuce and Dave Matthews Band return to SPAC this evening.
