Slightly Stoopid will self-release their seventh studio album, Top of the World, on August 14. The album features a slew of special guests, including reggae legends Barrington Levy and Don Carlos, G. Love, Angelo Moore (Fishbone), Chali 2na (Jurassic Five), Ian Neville (Dumpstaphunk) and Karl Denson.

Slightly Stoopid expands their sound on the album’s 21 tracks with a variety of musical styles: from the hip hop beats on the title track and funk and horns on “Devil’s Door” to 70’s Jamaica on “Serious Man” and ska on “Underneath the Pressure.”

In late 2011, some of the songs from the new album were debuted live at Bob Weir’s TRI Studios during the webcast, “Slighty Stoopid & Friends Live at Roberto’s TRI Studios.” The session included sit-ins by Weir, Ivan and Ian Neville, Karl Denson, Don Carlos and host Tommy Chong.

The seven-piece band will tour amphitheaters alongside 311, SOJA and the Aggrolites.
