Damon Dash’s DD172 & BluRoc Records have released a new free mixtape from South Carolina-bred McKenzie Eddy. El Presidente features a number of notable hip-hop artists, including Jim Jones, Ski Beatz, Sean O’Connell, and fellow South Carolina natives Rachel Kate Gillon and Righchus. Of particular note, the first track on El Presidente, “Retrograde,” was produced by Disco Biscuits bassist Marc Brownstein. Brownie also recorded a version of the song with Conspirator and included a live version on the track on their new Georgia Theatre live release. This version of “Retrograde” features Jim Jones. The album is available for free as a download.
