The 11th annual Pop Montreal festival will take place throughout Montreal September 19 -23. Perhaps Montreal’s answer to Austin’s SXSW, the event will feature a mix of club shows, panel discussions and other industry events.

Pop Montreal has revealed its initial “sneak peak” lineup. Some highlights are David Byrne, Lil B, Grizzly Bear, The Sadies, Ben Howard, Antibalas, Gang Gang Dance, Gotye and Patrick Wolf. Byrne will also sit for a public talk with Arcade Fire’s Win Butler, who headlined Pop Montreal in 2011 and has collaborated with the Talking Heads’ frontman a few times over the years.

Other confirmed acts include: Chilly Gonzales, Tim Hecker, Jacob Lusk and the R Kelly All-Stars, K’naan, Peaches DJ Extravaganza, POP vs Jock, Deerhoof, Nicky Da B, Zammuto, Dam Funk, Venus X, Jimmy “Bo” Horne, Andre Williams, Fanfare Ciocarlia, Cate Le Bon, Hot Snakes, Dirty Three, Julia Holter, Laetitia Sadier, Bertrand Burgalat, The Soft Moon, Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire, Buke and Gase, I Break Horses and Katatonia. Many additional acts will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
