Riotous underground country-western star Johnny Corndawg, who released his unique twist on the Nashville sound Down On The Bikini Line last year, just announced his summer tour and festival plans. The round of shows includes a number of high-profile dates in New York and a spot at this year’s Newport Folk Festival.

Next weekend the currently-homeless Corndawg will perform two shows in Brooklyn, first joining his friends and collaborators Deer Tick for their free City Wide SummerStage concert at Red Hook Park on Thursday, June 21 and then opening for The Infamous Stringdusters at Brooklyn Bowl the next night. Later this summer Johnny will rejoin Deer Tick at Fort Adams for the Newport Folk Festival, where he made a surprise appearance last year during Middle Brother’s Quad Stage performance.
