Dr. John & the Lower 911 wrapped-up a stretch of opening dates for Gov’t Mule at Atlanta, GA’s Chastain Music Park last night. During Gov’t Mule’s set, Dr. John and members of his band emerged for The Band classic “The Weight” as well as “Got My Mojo Working.” Dr. John also performed “The Weight” with Gov’t Mule in South Carolina last week.

Later in the night, John’s backing band took the stage with Gov’t Mule one final time during their encore for “John The Revelator,” “32/20 Blues” and “Spanish Moon.” Gov’t Mule also nodded to their surroundings, The Allman Brothers Band’s old homestate, with a version of the Warren Haynes/Dickey Betts ‘90s ABB cut “Kind Of Bird.” The number also contained both “Les Brers In A Minor” and “The Wind Cries Mary Teases.” Gov’t Mule will perform at Hampton Beach, NH’s Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom on Wednesday.
