Herring and friends in the studio via Facebook

As previously reported, Widespread Panic guitarist Jimmy Herring is currently working on his second solo album. Herring has now confirmed that the studio recording, Subject To Change Without Notice, is slated for release on August 21. The album will feature eight original songs as well as covers of Mahavishnu Orchestra’s “Hope”, George Harrison’s “Within You Without You” and Jimmy McGriff’s “Miss Poopie”. Subject To Change Without Notice was recorded at Athens, GA’s John Keane Studios with cast of musicians that includes Etienne Mbappe, Jeff Sipe, Neal Fountain, Matt Slocum, Bela Fleck and Bill Evans.

In other news, Herring has confirmed a special two-day instructional event. From August 17-18, fans can sign-up to perform and hang with Herring on a North Carolina studio. Additional information is available online.
