Woods Bends Beyond
Woods will release their next studio album Bend Beyond on September 18 via frontman Jeremy Earl’s own Woodsist Records. A limited 7” featuring the album’s first single will be available on their upcoming West Coast tour, which is centered around the Woodsist Festival in Big Sur on August 4 and 5. The album follows 2011’s Sun & Shade and a recent split LP with Amps For Christ.
According to the band, “While creating their newest record, Bend Beyond, the band abandoned their usual recording process, which favored immediacy above all – some songs were recorded just mere minutes after their creation – and instead sought to capture elements of their dynamic live sound. To this end, [multi-instrumentalist] Jarvis Taveniere joined Earl in his upstate home in the Fall of 2011 and the pair produced the twelve song album, which features the epic title song, a recent centerpiece to the band’s live set.”
At recent live shows drummer Aaron Neveu has augmented the band, allowing Taveniere to focus solely on guitar.
