While in Bourges, France this past April, Montreal-based folk outfit The Barr Brothers decided to record a short instrumental rendition of Led Zeppelin’s “Black Dog.” Recorded while rehearsing for some shows in a theatre that was built in the 1850’s, the group set up some mics up in the room (listen for the “old theatre” sound) and recorded the tune in a single take with fellow Montrealer Miles Perkin on upright bass.
