As previously reported, Marco Benevento will release his next solo album TigerFace in September. The keyboardist has now confirmed that he will officially celebrate his new album with a CD release event at Phil Lesh’s Terrapin Crossroads on September 14. Benevento’s Duo partner Joe Russo is current a member of Lesh and Bob Weir’s Furthur band.

Benevento recently released “This is How It Goes,” a number from the new project, as a Record Store Day special. Of particular note, the song, which features Rubblebucket’s Kalmia Traver, is the first Benevento solo song to boast vocals. The track was recorded by Tom Biller (Silversun Pickups, Elliot Smith, Fiona Apple) and mixed by Bryce Goggin (Pavement, Antony & The Johnsons, Akron/Family). Billard worked with Benevento on The Duo’s Play Pause Stop while Goggin has collaborated with the keyboardist on his previous solo releases.
