To celebrate the 15th anniversary of their major label debut record Too Far To Care, Dallas alternative band Old 97’s will launch a tour in which the band will play the popular album in its entirety along with an additional set of fan favorites. Released in 1997 via Elektra Records, Too Far To Care launched Old 97’s onto the national scene. They have since followed up this effort with seven additional studio albums, including The Grand Theatre Vol. 2, released in 2011.

Lead singer Rhett Miller stated, “Too Far To Care was a magical moment for the 97’s. Starry-eyed and flush with confidence thanks to our brand-new deal with Elektra, we felt no fear, just giddy excitement. An adventurous producer and a world champion A&R guy shepherded us through the recording process. And when it was all over, we had captured our little bit of lightning in a bottle. I love Too Far To Care and can’t wait to play it in its entirety across the USA.”

In addition to the tour that will feature appearances at Austin City Limits Festival, a two night stand at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles and Webster Hall in New York, Rhett Miller will perform an additional solo set on each date, fresh off the heels of his fifth solo album, The Dreamer.

To commemorate the 15th anniversary, Omnivore Recordings will also release special 15th Anniversary Editions of Too Far To Care across various formats this fall.
