A look at DMB’s new album

Dave Matthews Band closed a two-night run at Camden, NJ’s Susquehanna Bank Center last night. Earlier in the day, the group officially announced their new studio album, Away From The World, which is slated for release on September 11. In celebration, partway through their set the members of Dave Matthews Band debuted the album’s sixth track, “The Riff.” The group has already played a few songs off Away From The World, including “Gaucho,” “If Only,” “Mercy” and “Sweet.”

During “Jimi Thing” Dave Matthews Band also invited Roots crew horn players Lamont Caldwell and Matt Cappy onstage to play in their expanded horn section. The horn players have joined Dave Matthews Band several times over the years and members of The Roots frequently sit in with the band in the Philadelphia area.

In other news, Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds have added a July 15 show at Canandaigua, NY’s Constellation Brands – Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center. Tickets for the “Evening with” event will be offered to members of the Warehouse, the official fan club, in advance of the public on sale date. The Warehouse ticketing request period will open at 10:00 a.m. ET today and will close at 12:00 pm noon ET on Monday, July 2. The public on sale for the Canandaigua show will take place at 10:00 am ET on Friday, July 6.

Dave Matthews Band will perform at Hersey, PA’s Hersheypark Stadium tomorrow.
