Umphrey’s McGee celebrated Independence Day at Cincinnati, OH’s Moonlite Gardens last night. G. Love & Special Sauce opened the show, and the band’s namesake sat in with Umphrey’s McGee during their second set for a cover of Snoop Dogg’s “Gin & Juice.” He returned during Umphrey’s McGee’s encore for a cover of David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance.”

Adding to the festivities, Mad Dog’s Filthy Little Secret horns augmented Umphrey’s McGee on “War Pigs” during their Black Sabbath tribute segment first set. The horn section—led by Cincinnati trumpeter, Jazz Mandolin Project member and longtime UM friend Michael “Mad Dog” Mavridoglou—performed from the venue’s balcony.

Umphrey’s McGee will perform in Peoria, IL this evening.
