Mickey Hart backstage at Gathering of the Vibes

Paul Hoffman and Anders Beck of the Michigan-based newgrass quintet Greensky Bluegrass will join the Mickey Hart Band tonight for a show at The Intersection in Grand Rapids, MI. Greensky and the Grateful Dead drummer joined forces last year at the Hoxeyville Festival, when the Rhythm Devils sat in with the group on the classic Dead pairing of “China Cat Sunflower” into “I Know You Rider” (watch below). A statement posted to Hart’s Facebook page reads:

“This just in… Phoffman duo (Paul Hoffman & Anders Beck of Greensky Bluegrass ) are joining us tonight @ The Intersection in Grand Rapids, MI. We loved their set All Good Music Festival and invited them to come Pulse and Throb with us!“
