Phil Lesh kicked off another series of Rambles at his San Rafael, CA venue Terrapin Crossroads last night. The bassist’s band included Ryan Adams & the Cardinals/Chris Robinson Brotherhood guitarist Neal Casal, Furthur guitarist John Kadlecik, Chris Robinson Brotherhood/Black Crowes keyboardist Adam MacDougall, Furthur drummer Joe Russo and guitarist—and newly appointed sit in king—Stanley Jordan.

The ensemble opened their two-set show with George Harrison’s “Any Road’ andGrateful Dead originals and Dead-family covers. Like most of his Phil & Friends shows, Lesh started his second set with a freeform jam. The improvisation then moved into “Scarlet Begonias,” “Here Comes Sunshine,” “The Golden Road (To Unlimited Devotion)” and, finally, “Magnolia Mountain” (a Cardinals song Lesh has adopted in recent years).

Later on, Jordan offered a take on “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” while the group tackled Stephen Stills “Love The One You’re With” and “Mountain Jam.”

Lesh will host another Ramble this evening.
