Bon Iver is currently holding a remix contest in collaboration with Spotify and Indaba Music which will allow fans to submit their own remixes to the ten tracks off of the band’s most recent album, Bon Iver, Bon Iver. Each song’s stems (individual audio tracks prior to layering and mixing for the album), including some previously unreleased parts that were cut from the album’s final mix, are available for download now. The contest, titled “Bon Iver, Bon Iver: Stems Project,” is being held on music-based social networking site Indaba Music, and contestants will have until August 29th to submit their remixes.

Public voting on the submissions will take place starting August 30. The band will then consider the voting results before giving their final say on the winners for each track, which will be announced during the third week of September.

The ten winning remixers will receive a $1,000 cash prize as well as have their remixes assembled into a complete album and released exclusively on music streaming website Spotify. Members and friends of the band have also created their own remixes to promote “Bon Iver, Bon Iver: Stems Project,” the first of which—a “Minnesota, WI” remix by band member S. Carey—is now available to stream below.
