Tom Waits’ cryptic campaign continued this morning with the release of a second photo on his website (see above).

Like the first, which showed Waits brandishing an eye patch and a cutlass, the picture appears to be pirate or at least nautically themed, presenting a pair of geometric shark submarines behind an underwater Waits. The post appeared on Waits’ website this morning with the caption “I Breath Better Underwater,” further suggesting that he will be either be replacing Kevin Costner in Water World 2 or perhaps releasing a series of swashbuckling shanties.

Either way, we won’t have to wait long to find out, as this photo like the first is captioned with the simple promise (warning?): “Coming August 7.”
