On October 27, Deer Tick frontman and all-around indie rock miscreant John McCauley will perform in one of music’s most coveted venues: Carnegie Hall.

Built in 2003, Zankel Hall is the newest of the three stages at New York’s renowned Carnegie Hall and home to the venue’s less traditional performances, but even for it, the show looks to be a departure. McCauley, who’s known in equal part for his songwriting chops and outlandish stage antics, will likely play to a less rambunctious crowd at Zankel, which may be the only venue in existence to consider his 10 PM slot to be “late night.”
