God Street Wine wrapped-up their three night run at New York’s Gramercy Theatre on Saturday night. The two-set show closed the band’s duel-coast 2012 summer reunion shows, which also included two nights at Mill Valley, CA’s Sweetwater Music Hall, an appearance at Bob Weir’s TRI Studios and a stealth set at San Rafael, CA’s Terrapin Crossroads.

Like their other Gramercy Theatre shows, Native percussionist John Woody, New Jersey singer Lizzy Friel and latter day God Street Wine fiddler/keyboardist Jason Crosby augmented the five originals members of God Street Wine at various points throughout their show on Saturday.

In addition, Strangefolk/Assembly of Dust frontman Reid Genauer—who clocked in many dates at the band’s old haunt Wetlands—sang God Street Wine on “Borderline” at the end of their first set. As the band announced, Genauer used the band’s iPad to prepare for his sit in. Near the end of the show, a horn section consisting of Jeff Hermanson, Matthew Ellis and Jeff Countryman also emerged from “Late in the Evening” and “Into the Mystic.” As another nod to the evening’s reunion spirit, the show began with an archival video.

Friday night’s Gramercy Theatre also featured some special moments. Poet Frank Messina, who performed with members of God Street Wine as Jon Bevo’s Love Orchestra in January, opened the night with a short poem. While Crosby, Woody and Friel backed the group for much of the show, the band stripped things down at various points and guitarists Lo Faber and Aaron Maxwell opened their second set with “Thirsty” duet.
