The McCrary Sisters’ version of “Blowin’ in the Wind”

The McCrary Sisters sat in with Bob Dylan last night. The performance took place at Cincinnati, OH’s PNC Pavilion at Riverbend. During Dylan’s encore, The McCrary Sisters emerged to sing one of Dylan’s most iconic songs with him, “Blowin’ In The Wind.” Regina McCray toured with Dylan from 1979-1981 during the singer/songwriter’s gospel period. The McCrary Sisters also cover “Blowin’ In The Wind” on their album Our Journey and live in concert.

I was there, it was pretty cool! Musically, his shows are totally different with him on piano now. Less blues shuffles and loud guitars, with a lot more jazzy subtleties. Bob’s piano solos surprised me all night. If he could play that well the whole time, how did he make that organ sound so bad???

I was there, great nite by the Ohio, didnt think it could have been better…. til the lites came up on the encore. the rest was pure, peaceful, grand musical beauty. it was church. to our delight, Bob reinvented an encore with some friends

Bobby D. mixed it up righteously all night long and Leon Russell put on a powerfully moving headlining type set as well. It was church on Sunday for the encore- Amen
