Garth Hudson will participate in another tribute to his fallen Band collaborators Levon Helm, Rick Danko and Richard Manual later this month. Billed as Jimmy Vivino Presents The Band Songs: A Celebration of Richard, Rick and Levon, the show will take place at Helm’s Woodstock, NY-area barn on September 21. In addition to Vivino and Hudson, The Midnight Ramble will also feature later day Band guitarist Jim Weider, latter day band drummer Randy Ciarlante and Levon Helm Band bassist Byron Isaacs.

Helm’s studio has announced a few discounted events. A note from the studio/performance space’s staff reads:

Hi, everybody. We hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Labor Day. In an effort to keep the music going and because we understand that we’re coming off a holiday weekend, sending kids off to school and just plain-old trying to deal with this economy, we’re going to reduce ticket prices for the 09/08 and 09/22 Ramble to $75 per person. As we experiment with the schedules and ticket pricing, please bear with us. We’re adjusting to our new environment at the barn. We truly appreciate your continued support. The music is great, our family of staff and musicians are committed and Levon’s spirit lives on! We hope to see you at one of the shows. Thank you so much!

Helm’s camp has also confirmed that this weekend’s Midnight Ramble featuring Joe Russo and Catherine Russell will include “lots of songs of The Grateful Dead.”

Tickets the the Band tribute featuring Hudson, Vivino and friends will go on sale Wednesday night, September 5 at 8pm.
