The Beach Boys to Tour Without Brian Wilson, Al Jardine, David Marks

Brian Wilson, Al Jardine and David Marks have announced that they will no longer perform with The Beach Boys after their 50th anniversary reunion tour ends with a two-night stand in London later this month. The band will continue to perform with its pre-reunion tour line up of Mike Love, Bruce Johnson, Randell Kirsch, Tim Bonhomme, John Cowsill, Scott Totten and Love’s son Christian. Love has already announced a string of October dates and has said that more are to come.

Mike Love is kind of a douche. What’s the point if you’re not gonna include those three? #nostalgiaact

Do a YouTube search of Mike Love’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame acceptance. Totally angry and completely bizarre.

People that buy tickets to a Beach Boys concert with just Mike Love and a bunch of anonomous backing musicians in Hawaiian shirts are brain dead morons.

DK70,
Wow, thanks for letting me know about that. BIZZARRE is right, wow.
Anyway, I love Mike Love’s voice and find it incredible how youthful he can sound at the age of 70.
It was a hell of a show this summer and I hope you all got to see it.

Figures!! Best set of concerts they ever did and Mike Love decides to go back to his travelling juke box!! Well at least they held it together for the entire summer!!

I am a fan of all of The Beach Boys and I do like Mike, but it should be explained if this is a decision by all of the band members to split or not. I want to hear two sides, not just one side. What’s the story? I know Brian has had issues with his back and that he may need a break from touring, but it should be clarified if this split is mutual or not.

They didn’t so much announce their departure, it was more like they discovered Mike Love’s departure after it was reported that he scheduled dates for his little act before the reunion tour was even over. So whoever wrote this blurb should tell it like it is instead of sugar-coating the story.

I met and toured with The Beach Boys in the days of Surfer Girl and Lil’ Duce Coup…Yeah a Looong Time Ago. IN MY OPINION, Mike Love was a Jerk Then….and He’s still a Jerk ! As they say…Once a Jerk…Always a Jerk ! IN MY OPINION he was always Rude, Arrogant, Argumentative, Manipulative, and Nasty! IN MY OPINION...None of the other “Guys” were/are that way…they were all Up-Beat, Creative, FUN and a real Kick to be around….with THE EXCEPT of MIKE ! IN MY OPINION, it was either Mike Loves’s way…or NO WAY ! Sorry, didn’t mean to Burst any Bubbles. With All due respects to Y’ All I saw “The Guys” from a different side. IN MY OPINION, it’s NO WONDER that Brain, Al and Dave quit ! IN MY OPINION, They all had enough of Mike’s CRAP !

what a joke. No Brian or Al but John Stamos? That is beyond funny. I’ve seen Mike’s BBs at county fairs free with fair admission & that seemed like a rip off. So much for Mile’s statement that he didn’t want the Beach Boys to end up like the Eagles selling tickets for $5. They played for no ticket charge. The funny thing is that the only time the Eagles played for $5 was in 1973 (I think) on the same bill as, you guessed it, The Beach Boys. Several years ago at the county fair in Stockton, CA there was a BB/Jan & Dean cover band on another stage that completly blew Mike Love’s Beach Boys (sic) off the stage. Sure wish the other guys could revoke Mike’s licensing of the Beach Boys name before he tarnishes it even farther. Mike getting rid of Brian, Al & David would be like if Bill Wyman had fired Mick, Keith & Charlie from the stones.
