Tipitina’s Announces funky Meters VoodooFest Late Night

Tipitina’s has announced that The funky Meters will play a post-Voodoo Music Experience late night show on Friday, October 26 at the iconic New Orleans venue. The funky Meters consists of original Meters members Art Neville and George Porter Jr., as well as New Orleans musicians Russell Batiste Jr. and Brian Stoltz. This year’s Voodoo Music Experience will take place October 26-28 in New Orleans’ City Park. Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Green Day and Jack White are set to headline the festival.

In related news, Tipitina’s Concert 4 Flood Relief raised over $57,000 for victims of Hurricane Issac last Friday. Thousands of people came out to the iconic New Orleans venue to see the Stooges Brass Band and Mia Borders, as well as to support those who have been affected by the storm. The concert was bittersweet for Borders, who’s house was badly damaged during the hurricane. In addition to cash, concertgoers also brought canned goods for the United Way.
