Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band played their first of three shows at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium last nighy. This is the first time Springsteen has played the stadium although he has played the Meadowlands’ Giant Stadium as well as the Izod Center many times. To mark the occasion, the E Street Band welcomed back founding member Vini “Mad Dog” Lopez on drums for “The E Street Shuffle.” Lopez returned later in the set to play tambourine on “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out.”

The show ran a total of three hours and forty-six minutes and featured the tour premiere of “Mansion on the Hill,” a cut off of Springsteen’s 1982 release, Nebraska. Springsteen and the E Street Band are off tonight but will return for two more nights at the MetLife Stadium this Friday and Saturday.
