Members of The Revivalists sat in with Gov’t Mule on Saturday night. The performance took place at Reno, NV’s Grand Sierra, marking the final night of The Revivalists’ opening run for Gov’t Mule. Partway through Gov’t Mule’s second set, Revivalists saxophonist Rob Ingraham emerged for “Feel Like Breaking Up Somebody’s Home.” A few songs later, Revivalists pedal steel guitarist Ed Williams sat in on “Sad & Deep As You,” before Ingraham took the stage for “Blind Man In The Dark.” Both musicians returned at the top of Gov’t Mule’s encore for “32/20 Blues,” and the rest of The Revivalists took the stage for a show-closing jam based around Al Green’s “Take Me To The River.” The extended number even included the end portion of Sly Stone’s “Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin).”

Gov’t Mule will perform at Athens, GA’s Georgia Theatre on Wednesday while The Revivalists are off until a gig at Baton Rouge, LA’s The Varsity Theater on October 4.
