Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk and the Rebirth Brass Brand will host a late night show during Voodoo Fest later this month. The performance will take place at New Orleans’ The Howlin’ Wolf on October 26.
The last time Dumpstaphunk performed in their hometown was during New Orleans’ JazzFest After Dark finale last May at Tipitina’s. The show featured a rare sit in from four members of The Neville Brothers. The funk group’s Voodoo After Dark show will once again treat fans to special guests and cross-collaborations. Dumpstaphunk also promise to debut new songs from their forthcoming album, Dirty Word. The album, which which will feature Rebirth Brass Band in the studio, is slated for releasein January 2013.

Following Dumpstaphunk’s two-set show, the Howlin’ Wolf will also host a late night super jam featuring Terence Higgins, Eric McFadden, Eddie Roberts and Adam Scone, among other guests. A portion of the event proceeds will go to help friend and former Galactic frontman Theryl Houseman DeClouet’s mounting medical bills from his seven-year struggle with ESRD as he waits for a donor kidney.
