The Radiators to Reunite at Tipitina’s 35th Anniversary

New Orleans heroes The Radiators will reunite for a pair of shows at Tipitina’s on January 18 and 19. The show is part of the New Orleans club’s 35th anniversary celebration.

The Radiators announced their impending break-up in 2010 and played their final shows—dubbed the The Last Watusi—at Tip’s from June 9-11, 2011. The members of the group have continued to collaborate in different settings over the past year and the entire band reunited for a brief performance at New Orleans’ The Howlin’ Wolf on May 1. The May reunion show was a benefit for bassist Reggie Scanlan, who was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. According to Nola.com, his cancer is now in remission.

Wonderful news. The world does not spin the same without The Rads in it. Let’s Radiate.
