David Crosby Cancels Cap Appearance with Warren Haynes

David Crosby has cancelled his appearance at Port Chester, NY’s Capitol Theatre, which was set for tomorrow night. The CSNY staple was slated to perform with Warren Haynes as part of the theater’s Weekend with Warren celebration. Haynes is slated to play a solo set with special guests. Railroad Earth’s Tim Carbone, John Skehan, Andrew Altman and Andy Goessling will still appear during the show. Haynes will also perform at the Cap this Friday with his Warren Haynes Band.

Actually kinda psyched about this as it keeps the attention on Warren, but what’s the deal here? Seeing as Shapiro is Relix’s publisher, don’t you guys have an inside scoop as to why Cros backed out?

He appeared on a live TV broadcast from Syracuse last night celebrating the Dalai Lama

I just saw David tonight in NYC at the Seven Psychopaths movie premiere. Glad i didn’t ask him how rehearsals went.

Bought tickets to see Crosby with Warren – no mention from Cap – not happy – they were happy to announce. Was this a ticket sale ploy?

God bless David, glad he is alive and well. However I’m glad he canceled. Nice man, rock n roll legend, but from what little I’ve seen can only play his own style/brand. As a special guest, doesn’t add much beyond his name.

Maybe he wasn’t getting paid enough. CSNY charge a LOT for their shows and Warrens are usually moderately priced. It could be that.

I believe he had a daughter with Jackie Guthrie before she was married to Arlo. She just passed away. Perhaps that is why…

Shame. I heard Crosby and Nash perform with Warren and the Allman Brothers at the HepC benefit gig. It was excellent and Crosby said that Warren was a lot of fun to play with. So I’m sorry this isn’t going to happen.
