Dhani Harrison and his group thenewno2 recorded a show at Bob Weir’s Marin County TRI Studios on Friday. During the performance, Harrison invited out Weir as well as Jane’s Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins and singer Perry Farrell for a take on Cream’s “Sunshine of Your Love.” TRI studios offered a glimpse of the recording session when they sent out a tweet late Friday afternoon. Dhani is the son of The Beatles’ George Harrison.

Jane’s Addiction covered The Grateful Dead’s “Ripple” on the 1991 tribute album Deadicated. Perkins’ late brother was also a massive Deadhead and, when Jane’s Addiction headlined Gathering of the Vibes in 2011, Farrell remarked that he would have been “so proud” that his brother played with the members of the Dead. Perkins has also collaborated with Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart as part of The Rhythm Devils.

thenewno2’s performance will air at a later date.
